Who We Are

The Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF) was launched in 1981 by founding members Karnail Pannu, Fazal Awan, Dr Jonathan Romain, Peter Hudson and Dr Mike Bruton. Its primary aim is to strengthen understanding, mutual respect and trust between the different faiths within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Charity Status

WAMCF is a registered charity (No 1131156) and was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2011. The President is the sitting mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

History

Over the last three decades it has consistently organised a stream of activities including sporting events, conferences, workshops, youth concerts, faith walks, diversity dinners and interfaith dialogues. It participates in the annual UK Interfaith Week and has a strong Women’s Group.

Nine Faiths/Beliefs

WAMCF comprises nine faiths and beliefs  – Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Baha’i Faith, Buddhism, Brahma Kumaris and Humanism.
