The Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum welcomes you.
The Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF) was established in 1981 by its visionary founding members: Fazal Awan, Dr. Mike Bruton, Peter Hudson, Karnail Pannu and Dr. Jonathan Romain.
Dedicated to fostering harmony, its mission is to promote understanding, mutual respect, and trust among the diverse faith communities within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
Statement from the Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum:
-18th September 2026-Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF)
stands with the Maidenhead Mosque community. The Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum stands in
solidarity with the Muslim community of Maidenhead in the face
of the deeply distressing abuse and hatred they are currently
experiencing. We are deeply concerned by reports of racist graffiti around the
Maidenhead Mosque, verbal abuse directed towards members
of the Muslim community, and the reported throwing of rotten
meat towards the Mosque. No individual, family or community should have to experience
such behaviour. No one should feel unsafe, intimidated or
unwelcome because of their faith, ethnicity or identity. We unequivocally condemn racism, Islamophobia, religious
hatred, intimidation and abuse in all its forms — whether it takes
place online, in public or in private. Abuse does not become
acceptable simply because it happens behind a screen, from a
window or away from public view. The Maidenhead Mosque is a place of worship and community.
Those who attend should be able to pray, gather with their
families, and participate in their faith without fear of harassment,
hostility or abuse. As members of the Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum,
representing different faiths and beliefs, we believe that our
diversity is a strength. We are committed to building a community
in which people of every faith and none are treated with dignity,
respect and kindness. We call on everyone in our Borough to reject racism and religious
hatred wherever and however it appears, to challenge abusive
behaviour, and to support those who are being targeted. The Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum reaffirms its
commitment to fairness, mutual respect, freedom of religion and
belief, community cohesion and the right of every person to live
free from hatred and intimidation.ENDS
